Phonics is a method to teach someone to read and write a language by helping them understand the correlation between the letters in written language (graphemes) to their individual sounds (phonemes). It allows the child to work on unknown words for themselves rather than being asked to memorize them, an important step towards independent reading. A child needs to “crack the code” of English to become an independent reader and phonics helps your child in developing the skills to do so.
There are two ways to teach a child.

The “Rote language” is memorization and not every child has a good photographic memory making it difficult for the child with this learning methodology. Phonics makes the job easy for the child by giving them the key to encode and decode English.
